If you are a resident in the local area, then you cannot fail to have noticed the largely abandoned CRE (Coal Research Establishment) Dominating the skyline.

Indeed, it still occupies a vast tract of land in the village of Stoke Orchard and whilst local businesses operate from the site, it's fair to suggest that it serves little valuable purpose compared to it's past.

After many attempts, outline planning permission was granted in 2010 and this therefore paves the way for more ambitious plans to turn this area into something that better befits a local community.

In this section of the website, we will start to link to documents and other pieces of information that will give you insight into what we can come to expect from this significant project.

Whilst opinions are mixed about what to do with the site, it's clear that in it's current format, there is little of value for the vast majority of The Parish so we hope to bring you more developments as they occur.
